site redesign

If you feel as though your current design does not correctly reflect your objective or drive the desired results from your target audience, it may be time to consider a fresh start from a new set of eyes.

As browser standards change on the web, a crisp new design may be just what you need to get out of the Internet ice-age. Incorrect page structure, nested tables and flawed design will be eliminated with implementation of correct CSS markup.

Steps of Production

At RichGraphicDesigns, we have developed an orderly procedure by which we plan, design, and produce a web site.

1. Quote Request And Preliminary Estimate

We will review your information and then email you an initial estimate. This may be followed by a telephone or personal consultation. The consultation will be used as an exchange of information, to answer any questions you may have and help you decide if you want to move on to the next step. It is free and without any obligation.

2. Estimate Preparation

If, after the initial estimate and consultation, you decide to go forward, we will spend more time gathering information from you by email, phone, or in person. We will then write a detailed written set of specifications for your Web site with scope of services, an estimated total cost and a time line to complete your project.

3. Signing of Agreement

RichGraphicDesigns will email or fax you an Agreement, written without legalese for you to sign and send back to us. 1/2 of the estimated total cost is due upon signing of the Agreement.

4. Content Gathering

Text and graphic content must be gathered before most work can begin on the site. We will assist you in pulling together the text, logo, graphics, and photographs needed for the site, but it's important to be aware that a Web site project does require information from you.

5. Database Building And Web Programming

While you're gathering content, we will finalize detailed plans for the site structure (the way information is arranged and how navigation will work) as well as for any dynamic (database-driven) applications. Work on databases and data-driven pages can often begin during the content-gathering phase as well. These applications are tested thoroughly.

6. Site Mock-Up

Next, we begin working on a site mock-up consisting of the Main Page (Home) and 2-3 inside pages. The mock-up is based on the needs and preferences you have provided us. It is then uploaded to a private location on our server where you can view it "live". You will be able to test and review the navigation scheme, layout and the overall look of your site. Your feedback is solicited and encouraged, and is used to revise and produce a second draft. Once more, your feedback is used to make another round of changes and so on and so forth until you are 100% satisfied with the design. At this point it is considered to be the halfway stage of the project, we will require your written approval for the mock-up site before we can build the rest of the pages.

7. Building And Coding Of Actual Pages

The approved page design is now used as a template(s). Text and graphic content is "plugged in" and adjusted for a perfect layout. Dynamic page code is added to page templates.

8. Final Site Testing

The site is thoroughly tested on the actual server. You'll have another chance to review it for any minor changes or corrections, and we test the pages on numerous browsers, on different platforms, and at different browser window sizes and resolution settings, correcting any remaining errors. If a domain name needs to be pointed to the new site, this is usually done at this time, and the site is "live".

9. Site Launch

Final payment of balance is due and payable at this time. The site is then uploaded to your server and is considered "live". We allow ten business days after the launch for you to review the site and test functionality. Any errors or functionality problems brought to our attention will be fixed at no cost. After this period, a maintenance contract can be negotiated.

10. Are We Done Now?

No! Now is the time to actively promote your site and submit it to search engines. We would also be happy to handle your ongoing maintenance as well.
